João Antônio Gomes
Head Chair
João Antônio is a first-year studying History and Politics at the LSE. He started participating in Model United Nations during his high school years in Brazil, his home country. Over the years, he has taken on roles as a delegate and chair, founded a conference, and served in various secretariats. He is excited to continue his involvement in MUN at the university level. Currently, João holds the position of Under-Secretary-General of Delegate Affairs for LSEMUN XVIII and is set to be a chair at LIMUN '24. Although his nationality entails great football and dancing skills, he is a bit of a national shame when it comes to both. However, he has other passions, such as the classical guitar, debating politics, and knowing oddly specific and completely useless historical information. He is eager to meet a new generation of delegates this year and serving them at the UNDP.
Sophia Marosszeky
Vice Chair
Sophia is a first year BSc Economics student at the LSE. She was born and raised in Australia, and is also Hungarian. Sophia started her MUN journey 6 years ago in high school, competing in various public speaking and MUN competitions with UN Youth Australia. She attended the UN Youth State Conference Camp twice, learning her key MUN skills at this event. Sophia was then selected to be a part of the UN Youth Emerging Leaders Program in 2022. This was a 2 week intensive course focusing on diplomacy, MUN skills and interactive problem solving, led by journalists, NGOs and diplomats. After graduating high school, Sophia did not want to end her MUN participation, she became a volunteer with UN Youth Australia as a facilitator. Sophia chaired MUN debates at day-summits and camps for high school students, as well as leading workshops on international relations. Sophia is excited to bring her MUN skills to the UK!
Pham The Ngoc Nguyen
(Dylan Aurelia)
Vice Chair
Having started his Model UN within 9 months, The Ngoc finds himself have burning passion for this academic activity because of societal benefits it brings to the table. He was born and raised in Vietnam, now he is doing his final year of his Business Course in the United Kingdom. The dream to connect the world together has urged him to take this Chair Position where he could become a "Dots Connector" and contribute his voice to popularize valuable lessons from this pursuit for the student community. Regardless of his little experience, he believes that non-stop learning and contributing to the Committee would make us have successful performance in the next Conference at LSEMUN 24 and he cannot wait to Chair his UNDP anymore.
Rishaad Bhushan
Assistant Chair
Rishaad is a Sixth Former studying at Harrow School. Born and raised in Singapore, he is now living between London and Dubai. His MUN journey started in 2022 when he won as a delegate in LSEMUN’s WHO. Since then, he has gone on to act as a NGO’s delegate at COP28, be selected as a UK delegate to the European Youth Parliament, and be one of the first to be named Youth Councillor for two different boroughs, Harrow and RBKC. He has also interned at a leading corporate law firm in the US. Outside of MUN, Rishaad is an avid squash player, investor, film critic, and can often be found cricketing, frequently chipping a ball to the bowler after 10 overs in the dirt. However, in his opinion, his crowning achievement remains dropping fourty kills in Fortnite.
